Have you been watching for what's happening in Iran right now? If you've not, Google for Iran elections; look to the blogosphere.
Brief story: They had presidential elections last week. Elections look to have been frauded. Now the people of Tehran, and in other Iranian cities, are rising up against the current president (the current president doesn't like that).
Twitter has been very important in this. If you have a Twitter account, I hope you've been following #iranelection. If not, this would make a great time to join!
Whether this will result in a new government, who knows. But it seems certain that something massive will happen.
Your thoughts?

From everything Laihendi has read, it seems unlikely that the election was fair, however it should be expected that western media (especially American) would be slanted against Ahmadinejad.
In
this
article, the author finds it questionable that nearly 40 million ballots could be counted in such a short time (Laihendi has heard some claim they were counted in only 2 hours, and others claim it took as long as 12 hours). However, in the past US presidential election, weren't there more than 40 million votes? And that didn't take long to count either.
If Laihendi were to take a guess, he would say that the election was rigged, but right now he doesn't feel like he has enough
reliable
information to know the truth.
By the way, update faces of wowhead! Thanks :D

Oh, I don't care about the reason behind the uprising, I care more about the fact there is an uprising. Something is happening in Iran which hasn't been seen in 30 years.

...
That's sort of the important part.

seems to be a better source of information right now than CNN.

CNN is balls-crap on this for some reason. Check out the Huffington Post and the blogosphere, as well as Twitter if you're a tweeter.

LOL
Laihendi just turned on the TV. On CNN Anderson Cooper is actually talking about the protests in Iran.
Then he switched it to Fox, and they were talking about how this abortionist guy is a criminal. Fox fails, as usual.

The last time Iran saw riots this large was in 1979, when the US backed Shah was overthrown and the current government instituted.

Maybe that means it's time for America to step in and set things right again.

Think about it... everything is fine with the American backed government, until the rebels are all violent and overthrow the government America set up there. And then after 30 years of an oppressive regime, the people overthrow that one! Obviously this means America needs to assert its dominance once more so that lasting
domination
peace can be achieved.

Right now this country can't afford to assert dominance over a vending machine, let alone a foreign government. But on the topic, I could see this uprising going either very good, or very badly. A civil uprising in an already unstable country next door to Iraq just gives me great cause for concern. Would hate to see a lateral move from Iraq to Iran.
But... go America?
