All that would be true except for one major point you are forgetting. Damage is not based only on how much you hit, because Rogue and Warriors, for example have MANY abilities that proc on crits. Lethality is a HUGE example of this. On a crit you do 40% more damage. Then you have all the Bleeding effects for the warrior. My Doomsaw does 70 dmg a tick when I crit and get the target bleeding. Basically your arguement has no merit. I haven't done the math, but I can almsot gaurantee 1% crit > 1% hit. Besides, why else would Blizz put % crit on the higher end weapons and % hit on the lower end if they didn't already KNOW that crit is better?

The higher the critical %/hit %, the lower the effect of a 1% change would be on your DPS (proportionally).

Let's take a 65% chance to hit (dual wield), and...oh, 30% chance to crit.

That's
.195 * 2.3 + .455 = .9035

With 1% greater chance to crit
.2015 * 2.3 + .4485 = .91195

With 1% greater chance to hit
.198 * 2.3 + .462 = .9174

So, the increase in chance to hit would cause a greater impact than increase in chance to crit in this case.

53ag adds 1 to crit for hunters. It is much lower for other classes.

As the one or other might know:

Shamans have in their "enhancement"-tree a talent named "Flurry", which increases weapon speed AFTER LANDING A CRITICAL STRIKE by up to 30% for the next 3 swings.

So, IF a shaman has skilled this talent, this item would be legitimate shaman loot, too. After all, at this point he has spent at least 15 up to 20 or more talent points in this tree to receive this bonus, of which at least 5 up to 10 are spent alone for the "Thundering Strike/Flurry" combo.

Mortal Shots - Increase your ranged critical strike bonus by 10%. (per talent max is 5)

but then no ring is classified as any class ring, unless its set at it. But its pretty obvious hunters benefit more from any crit item, for the simple fact that it require most agility to get 1% for a hunter. But then that doesn't mean other classes DON'T need crits, that's the important part.

Won this and the shadowcraft tunic tonight. I was dead and too far away to see the rolls. When I finally got rezzed I ran over to check the corpse and they were both mine.

Just got this. I was in UBRS just helping, didn't actually expect it to drop. Surprisingly nobody else rolled on it .. o_O; Replaced Blackstone Ring that I've had since 50. Good PvP ring for sure. The rarity really sucks, though.

Won this ring with a 99, rolling against our entire 15 man raid. Also happened to win the roll on the Beaststalker Tunic chest which I also needed. Was a VERY good evening!

Does anybody use master looter on bosses ny more? every raid into ubrs ive joined has been a PUG and we have never had a ninja. We work with a couple of guilds we trust to fill the bulck of the raid, and plug ny gaps with randoms. The raid boss just makes it clear that master looter will be on for boss fights, calls the rolls, and checks that those that roll are eligable for the item. No risk, no hassle.

from my experience I know that it's not so important how high you hit but how often. I believe AP is far more important than % to crit.
There are many build and theory may vary, but as a combat rogue I'll always look forward to AP gear over %crit gear. Then again going completely bananas with AP is not too wise either, Cadaverous armour comes to mind where we have sta and AP only, your gear should be balanced but leaning towards AP.

% to crit will always aggro mobs you attacking far more easily and know that mobs facing you have higher chance to dodge parry or evade your attacks. Therefore I never pay attention to my crits, but to overal dps for entire run.

As to the ring, it's an awesome one, with AP. crit AND stamina bonuses. Couldn't ask for more ;-)

Got this ring on my 1st run, so happy now. Excelent stats, preferable for hunters+rogues.

How come so many people don't realize how things like this benefit a warrior. Fury or Arms. Somehow I managed to find a few groups that did realize it. And guess what? I got a 32% crit chance and I'm 15% of all dps in ZG, and AQ20. Forget hunter and mage dps, hanging around 10%.

As a warrior i have no problem with any class other then mages, warlocks and priests rolling on this. Fact is it helps us all and if anyone wants it go ahead, except you stupid mages, locks and priests...

feral druid here. i was tanking the bosses of UBRS and letting the the 'real warrior tanks' deal with the trash while i DPSed for fun. this dropped. you bet your ass i rolled on it.

All warriors should roll on that....if they are PvP oriented. Rogues/Hunters are not the only ones that want crit. I have eye of Rend, deathdealer bp, emberfury talisman, etc. I didn't see this as a warrior item at first, but now, definetly so. Remember that most warriors hate being tanks, and the only reason they are doing it is to get the gear that will help them kick someone's @55. so quit your whining.

Hunters, rogues, and warriors need this. Granted, warriors need to do more damage in PvP and aren't tanks in that case. However, a hunter or a rogue using say, band of flesh and band of the ogre king will never be as successful as they would with painweaver and masons/blackstone. Where warriors can pull it off with band of flesh and band of the ogre king. Undeniably, painweaver band is a necessity for warriors in PvP. But, hunters and rogues could use it more often. (In my opinion of course and keep in mind that as a hunter i would never yell at a warrior for rolling on it, but those paladins need to understand....THEY'RE SECONDARY HEALERS)

As a Paladin I would never roll for it vs a Hunter or Rogue.. But If they don't have need.. I would roll vs any Warrior for it since it's great pvp Item

Alliance Warriors could use Testamento de Magni instead, it has a little less (4) attack power but you'll end up with more block, Rogues only get 1 attack power for strength and strength doesn't give range attack power for Hunters so why not let these two classes roll over you when you can get a very similar item quite easily?

Anyhow, it's a good ring, better than Tarnished Elven and probably the best Blue ring for a rogue.

One thing I find truly annoying.
-You do Strath Baron-
Rammstein drops the 16 sta ring. No Rogues, Hunters ever roll, it's assumed to be a tank item (most responsible rogues and hunters anyways)

Every god damn tank and their grandmother rolls on this.

...that sounds about right, considering there's over a dozen rings out there better for tanks than this, even some of the green ones.

This ring is for all non-magic classes. What are the non-magic classes? Well, I believe melee should have priority here. So here they are:

Primary - Rogue, Warrior
Secondary - Druid (feral), Hunter, Paladin

Im a rogue and would love to add this ring in to my crit% pool. But the lucky dice never shows itself (I use don julio/tarnished elven ring atm), 30.5% crit chance ;)
Lost on rolls for this one twice, both times shamans won :\ now Ive stopped doing UBRS too, so will never see it :P *huff*

Warriors have far more need of this item than rogues or hunters, or especially paladins ever will. Everytime they see +1% chance to critical they think that automatically means its a rogue or hunter item, no matter what the other stats are it seems. It's like a hunter rolling on Zin'Rokh over a Warrior. It makes no sense, stop and think. There are far better items for your class, so Warriors take priority on this over all of you.

Great upgrade over Band of Flesh, now all I need is to replace my Seal of the Gurabashi bezerker with Don Julio's Band and I'm good to go... once i hit exalted with AV that is.

This puts me over 22% crit in zerker stance, and the chance to hit is nice. Fury warriors, rogues, and maybe hunters should roll on this. IMHO, rogues should get priority (Im saying this as a fury warrior) since their permanent job at all times is damage output. Fury warriors can definately dish out the damage, I know first hand, but we lose out in the off occasion we have to offtank and equip a tanking ring like band of resolution or somesuch.

Hunters? Not so much. 16 attack power does not mean hunter item. Its a perk, but comon, let the rogues and dps warriors get this before you do. Grab a green 'of the monkey' ring and stop crippling raid progress by rolling on something another class can use alot better.

first of all.. Rogue needs crit, rogues are all about crit. I agree warriors need crit in pvp, but a warrior that wants crit for tanking.. a fool. it is true he can aggro better, but he dies so fast it matters not he kept the aggro better.

Sta. I agree warriors need sta more than others FOR TANKING! in pvp warriors have so great armor compared to Rogues they dont need it as much.

16 AP means 16 str for a rogue, but warr could get that for 8 str!

so.. Crit -> rogue wins
Sta tank Warrior > rogue > PVP warrior
AP -> Rogue wins

Cant say that much about hunters cause havent played one that long.

This dropped today with the Tooth of Gnaar, green leather pants with +56 attack power and the Lightforge Breastplate.

A protection spec warrior won this over a rogue and myself (feral druid) which sucked pretty hard. That bastard better wear it! =P

ok now let me see..... ive done ubrs what some 50 times or so? lets say 30 to be fair, but more than that tbh

general usually drops 2 blue....

this is supposed to have a 17% drop rate....

I have NEVER EVER seen this damn ring drop! ever! i mean fgs, out of the 60-70 drops i have witnessed sofar from the gay lizard, there have been like 10-20 draconian deflectors (18% drop my ass every warrior/pally and their mother has one) but 0 (ZERO) rings. sad thing is that until i get my hands on a good epic ring (that will cost me some dear DKP) this is pretty much the next best thing for a rogue - IF IT EVER DROPS. damn those past midnight ubrs runs.... to let some steam off they say...

Been trying to get this forever. Dozens of UBRS runs and it finally drops today.

When I finally get a good roll, /rand on 84. A warrior rolls 94.

I just think it's wrong when a Hunter/Rogue loses a +agi/+ap/+crit ring to a Warrior. I don't mind them getting it, but you gotta give us priority if we call our N on it.

I should've just ninja'd that thing. Hunter ninja, ftw.

Roll/need order should be like this IMO:
First Rogues and Hunters
Second Warriors
Third Paladins

I for one have a 60 rogue and 60 warrior and totally disagree with you for the following reasons:

1. In any endgame instance a warrior should and always have any defense piece equipped i dont' give a &*!@ what spec you are that is and will always be your job reguardless. Save the damage for the BG's. I dont' wanna hear: "ZOMG'Z have you ever seen a fury warrior do damage?" Yes I have, but the place for a warrior has and always will be with a shield in hand and taking damage.

2. A rogue is a dps class first and foremost.A rogue would get more use out of that ring , hell even a hunter, than a warrior ever will in a endgame instance.

In conclusion,It's a good ring for all classes, but is it strictly a Warrior item? @#$% No! Rogues and Hunters should have priority over this item before a warrior even gets there grubby mits on it. They would put it to MORE use than a warrior ever would inside end game.

I am a warrior and i would tank with this ring. Not just in pvp you wanna crit but also in pvp. Why you ask? look at it this way. Crits=double damage correct? double damage=double threat generated per hit correct? and because my crits also dot more damage and more threat towards warrior. Also more rage so i can use sunder armor more and even MS(only when i have like 40+ rage otherwise sunder is better for aggro hold) which again equals more aggro. tanks need to do some damage and the fact is that i tank with arms/fury and i hld aggro sometimes better than denfensive. Crits help tank alot you just dont realize it. Its a hunter/warrior/rogue item and if none need then pally shamens get to have it. Otherwise your just gonna have to live with the fact that warriors also Need the item and not just want.

I got mine.

I was the only rogue in the group of 15. Then everyone except the mages and preists rolled on it. Needless to say i was pissed i was with a PUG rather than my guild. But lo and behold i won out of 10 peopel for my only win in the run. It was a good night.

Good elementary dps ring for any class who does physical damage. Common, and easy to acquire. Nice to pair with he Band of Flesh (or a Myrmidon's Signet) for a PvP setup.

UBRS is mostly done in PUG's. In a PUG you roll on everything that you need, may it be tanking better or doing PvP better (in a warriors case).

Warriors that tanks and do PvP needs 3 different sets. FR gear, defense gear and DPS gear (how many other classes do that? Warriors and druids who wanna tank). I'll roll on this without a doubt unless it's a guildrun and a rogue really wants it (rogues can't tank so they DPS all the time, I DPS 90% of the times but I do everything for my guildies).

But PLEASE stop with all comments about who's ring this is. Post useful stuff instead. I've lost roll on this ring twice, once for a pally and once for a rogue. I'm not complaning even though most people consider palas to be anything but meleer's.

If you lose a roll, take it in a mature way! As long as it's not a caster who's rolling on it he deserves it just as much as you!

Every melee oriented class would whant this ring, why? to stand as a the winner in PvP. And this ring is much easier to get then the typhoon. To say that if a warrior rolls on this ring is the same as a hunter rolling on typhoon is the same are a really really stupid person. In end game its PvP that matter and a warrior whants to deal dmg in PvP not stand as a rock doing nothing, so all you that fail the roll on this ring just has to do the instance again. PLZ quit the "this is a hunter item bull s h i t" and to say that a hunter that needs typhoon is the same as a warrior rolling on this ring, then a warrior can roll on dreadmist sets and so on just beacause he can use it?

Why are there so many unexperienced %^&*s adding useless comments here?
This ring is serious killer in warriors hands,
and ppl who say fury warrior cant out dps mages/rogues in BWL with good gear, get a grip.
As almost every warrior aims for a great %crit, this is a nice addon.
I dont get ppl who say it doesnt suit warrior as good as other classes since they aren't able to use it always, again many warriors just tank because they have to, instances will be troublesome without tanking and christ sake, thats why we are tanking,
give us a credit, from our hard work we wanna enjoy some pvp:ing with great gear, this is good addon to every warrior whos interested in dmg dealing gear, how are the BG's if warriors run around with +60 def and 1h? i think the server is soon empty of warriors.

it's doable with ur guild cos u only need 5 people, not all that hard and u can wear 2 of those which are waaaaaaaaaaaay better for u then this ring here. furthermore, no warrior in his right mind would roll over this when a hunter or rogue needs. to say even more, they won't be able to cos when u do tribute run there is so much loot they'll have to put their need somewhere else. so really... fock drak and kill the king ^^

i have one of these, as a 60 pally. its quite funny how i got mine too.

i rolled a 31, and then claimed that was my roll for the beaststalker chestpiece. to my suprise and quite a few others, the leader believed me. i then rolled a 99, and snagged it ;).

I want to tell you my story as a lvl 59 fury warrior playing classic.
I did a UBRS run today trying to get some Pre-raid BIS gear before I hit 60. Had a great group makeup which included one rogue. You know where i'm going with this...
We get to last boss and Painweaver Band as well as Breastplate of Valor dropped. I proceed to need both as the other Warrior had T1 chest. We'll the Rogue was waiting to see what I rolled on and when he saw that I rolled on that ring he Needed on the chest. Now I won the ring THANK GOD, but he won the breastplate. Then he goes into a Rage on me. You can imagine the words used. He hearths and tells me he just vendored the Chest among other things... REALLY?

Aren't we all older now. We should be all grown up. By the way I already have SGC and a few other pre-raid BIS but I had a lvl 49 ring with 10stam/9str and +4 def that I replaced. If i'm going to raid soon i'd rather not be sporting a lvl 49 tank ring.... Tell me if im wrong? God man.

I hope this drama does not continue in future dungeons.
