It dropped in a Party with 2 druids, a mage,a rogue and me, a level 60 hunter. My second tarnished elven ring and the orge forged hauberk dropped too.

Best Tribute run ever.

That being said, I wouldn't have rolled if a warrior or shaman was present.

i just got this on my sham yesterday its awesome been testing it out and it pwns with windfury

this axe is def warr/sham and ur a lucky hunter...dont c many hunters saying they wouldnt roll on soemthing that good anyway just had to clear that up

i know this enhancement shammy with two band of the ogre king and couple more gears that have lotsa str and &*!@
he kicks most of the warriors ass with this axe
his mana of course is as low as hunters
and cant heal for ^&*!
but hey he tears pvp warrior's gut apart
and dat is something dont ya think?
dont even ask how he does against leather or cloth wearers, they all just melt like a lil snow man in the desert

if shammies use slow 2h like UF or AR, they really dont get many chances to swing
cuz they have to waste couple secs to cast and stick some totems in the ground every time they cast or use totem, they have to wait for its atk speed for the next swing, so it can be better than other slower 2h weapons for the most of the time

I use UF for my enhancement shammy but if I ever get a chance to see this beautiful thing, damn right Im gonna get it, if any hunter wanna argue with me over who gets to roll on this baby?

a hunter friend asked me (60 warrior) to tank the king in DM for his pug, after he kicked out a crappy pug warrior who had no idea how to tank. so we kill the king, i open the tribute box and see this thing... and pass it to the hunter =p

for a fact there are better weapons for a hunter - and there are better weapons for a warrior - so basically, if this is an upgrade for you, ask to roll for it. even though this is epic, just consider it among one of the many upgrades you will get along the way to your final / endgame equipment.

To any Warrior who is lucky enough to get their hands on this thing, I seriously recommend giving 2-Hand Fury a try. It's not as shabby as everyone thinks.

Bloodthirst doesn't rely on top-end Damage, which this Axe doesn't have much of, but instead on Strength, which this Axe aha 25 of.

2% Chance to Crit, 50 Attack Power and some Stamina thrown in is bout more than any Fury Warrior could ask for.

The Fast speed also makes for more crits, and more procs of Flurry.

Your not getting much from this Weapon specc'd for Mortal Strike, so if you are, either respec to Fury or pass to a Hunter.

I unno about that man, but i know some warrs who can break 30% with the right gear/trinkets./agility enchants. And with all the new gear from AQ20/AQ40 coming out, i'd say that getting Warrior crit up to 40%<or even 37%> is very possible. Just gotta get the gear.

High Speed + Low max damage = not good for MS warriors. End of Story. Paladins would do better with a slow 2H also but I'm not going to berate one for rolling on it :)

Our warrior was Fury but Quel'serrar + offhand is better.

Now the shaman absolutely RINSES mobs, it's a joke. Windfury Crit Flurry - 90% damage on an elite mob in the space of .3 seconds. Sure he gets aggro when windfury proccs but I'm the healer and I say obscene DPS is ftw ;)

As a hunter i wouldnt roll on thi item unless the warrior / pally in my group passed because as a hunter duel wield is the way to go get a bone slicing hatchets and a thunderwood poker with 15agi enchants which is 60 agi and that helps our ranged atk power and crit chance and as a hunter u should FD trap wingclip scattershot if u still cant get out of melee range then ur not a very good hunter and with duel weild i can get 600 raptor strike crits which is enough dmg to hurt who ever u hvae been kiling

Warriors will prefer the Arcanite Reaper because this weapon is fast. In my group of 2 hunters, Warrior, Shaman and Druid, everybody but the Druid rolled for it.

Best part of having it is that it looks so awesome.

I have never heard that &*!@ like here. This is that defintley a warrior weapon. Have you ever played a warrior and have you had math in school?
All stats of this weapons are showing that this is a warrior weapon. The damage is clear. strength and stamina aswell. You hunters mean a hunter would need the 5% critical? A warrior needs quite more. A hunter if he is good nearly never gets into a melee battle. But a warrior is fighting always with his weapon. A warrior has a skill to improve the damage of his critical strikes by 20%. (I think that tells you all..that means there is a 20% more useage of a critical then a hunter..but there is quite more). The warrior has a talent to improve the chance on critical by 5%. There is also another talent that improves the chance to make a critical with an axe (remember THIS IS AN AXE) by 5% more percent. A warrior who wants to do some damage (that means all warriors because he's doing nearly nothing dmg) will chose a axe. He also has 5% by default and and 3% percent by his agi and other items. That makes a chance of 20%. And with a speed of 2.70 this means the warrior would do all 13.5 seconds in average a critical that is 20% more effective than criticals of other classes. And you say its a hunter weapon, who is in worst case 50% in a melee battle?

this dropped for me while on a tribute run, i was actually after the barbarous blade, but couldnt belive my eyes when i saw it dropped! i slappy crusader on, nonstop 1300+ white dmg. this axe is insane!

You've never seen an epic drop u stupid bastard, stop talking like you know anything. There's a HUGE difference between a warrior and rogue rolling on a ranged weapon and a hunter rolling on a melee weapon. We melee around 35% of the time while u range about .01% of the time. This is just another weapon to add to the hunter's "don't roll on bin." It's not like warriors don't have dozens of choices for 2H weapons at this point in the game while we have very few besides some $%^& greens and the barbarous blade, too bad some warrior or pally would say "why would a hunter roll on that?" if i rolled on the barbarous blade.

This is a War wepon.
A hunter who is in melee range is an idiot.
A Warrior needs hits to keep the 5 to 40 other people alive. . . simply put - if a Warrior rolled on an epic bow that had say +10 Stam, +7 Str - would he get a chance to roll? I mean, he uses it right - to pull and such. . . Same thing reversed = this situation.
Need means need. not greed.

Im a Range spec hunter with 9 points in survival, 9 times of 10 i can pull agro off warriors just with melee dual wield ..thats sad. Imo just let the gimpy warrior have this cus im tired of pulling agro off them in ranged combat.

Barbarous Blade suck compared to Treant's Bane for hunters and for all other classes il suspect.

PS. All classes exept rogues and caster can roll on this. And im a hunter so dont ****ing lecture me. Warriors end game is a whole lot better but not everyone do get to MC etc. so i say let em roll.

Frankly, there have been hunter, warrior, shaman. But this axe, is perfect for just about any 2handed axe user. Period. Also, it looks damn cool. So, basically there is no claim on it. The only people to exclude, are those who can't use the axe. And my only one thing to say to them is... Change your class.

This is prolly the best 2h weapon in the game for a shaman.
It will be also good for a fury spec warrior (but is any warrior in the world specced fury ? it is not so good in pvp and not so good in pve. So...)
The hunters clairly want this weapon only for the 2%crit chance. Don't bother us talking about you need high dps for meleeing as an hunter.
I can't really understand why someone is also calling this as a paladin's weapon.
Since when paladins need to do any damage ? they need %crit chance ? rofl.
Let the paladins do what they are designed for plz. Shield and 1h.

In any group this must be rolled first by a shaman or warrior. Then by an hunter.
Any pally ninja rolling on this must be simply kicked out the party and blacklisted. Also any hunter ninja rolling on this when a shamans is in party and need it.

We've been doing stealth tribute runs recently with 1 druid and 4 rogues. We did one tonight and had the epic drop. We attempted to have a warrior who was already in the area get there in time, but even though I held the loot the whole time, the entire tribute dissolved after 10 minutes or so. To be honest, I was kinda mad I didn't loot it as it probably disenchants into 3 shards, like all other epics. Instead all I have is a lousy screenshot I took after opening the tribute :(. I'll post a link after I put it online, as my ftp site has a mere 10 gig transfer per month limit.

Even counting in the massive STR bonus and the +2 crit, the truth is that this is a halfassed weapon for any serious DD warrior; it is far too fast. Hunters pallys shamans whoever are welcome to roll. Looks nice though!

Best axe that doesnt require you to be in an MC/BWL guild, and Raid every day. Id get this in a heartbeat if i could. Plus i wouldent have to give up my Arms spec to get into protection, Get maxed out defense skill and then find an MC raiding guild. Much better IMO for casual gamers that cant/dont want to get into an MC guild.

ok first off i think that anyone that can use this axe has a right to roll but AFTER discussion with the people in the group. First off this more of a warrior item due to the fact warriors A) use 2h axes for crits B) this has a plus 2% to crit which is good for everyone but warriors get nice rage boosts due to crits (twice the amount) and therefore in order to use specials like MS need the rage and need the crits to use specials faster C) the stats are favored to paladins shamens and warriors but hunters who may like the extra stam but strength is wasted on the hunter imo

so basically this isnt really a favored hunter. Hunters should go get 2 dawns edge and then swap them out for a better weapon in close range combat. Its less costly and you still get the crit chance bonus with out having to go get an epic. Paladins have the same right to roll on this as a warrior but, again i would have to say that this is more of a warrior weapon than the other classes. I dont know enough bout the shamen class to say whether or not its a good weapon for them so i will not go there.

so a break down would be this (rating of 1-10 1 being lowest 10 highest)

warrior- 10 this is very much a warrior weapon
paladin- 9 stats and damage justify it being good for paladins
hunter- 6 this really isnt the best weapon for ya
shamen- ? dunno but i think i would say an 8 cause you dont always tank. i dunno dont take this rating seriously

Actually, thats incorrect, attack power bonuses from gear affect melee AND ranged attack power which in turn increases constant damage done, which is a given as opposed to a percentage chance that you'll critical strike an opponent. Nice try though

Dont get me wrong, If a hunter or shammy rolled on it, I wouldnt be mad, I can see why either class would want it, but to say that its not a good warrior weapon is complete BS

I know a Fury/Arms Warrior using this right now in MC, and his Damage is ridiculous, usually coming out 6-10% over the rest of the Raid, and that's percent of the Entire Raid's Damage... He's unstoppable in Single Target DPS compared to his Guildmates (who are slackers by any means).

He's a badass Warrior to begin with, but when he got this I knew he was going to Annihilate... He has an Unstoppable Force, but uses this for the fact that the Flurry Procs are great for Rage Management ( -Wep Spd = +Hits = +Rage), and he enjoys the +6 Str over the tUF. He also said he gets tired of seeing "Immune" on targets when the tUF procs, since like... nothing... in MC is Stunnable.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents, hope it helps someone. GL getting it, and cheers to those lucky enough to have it already.

This is the gayest possible warrior axe period. Way to fast....WAY TO FAST. If you use this your gonna get pwned end of story. You'll get like 600 crits wtf is that lol. If you roll on this and your a warrior your a tard seriously. Grind AV for an Unstoppable Force or Get an Arcanite Reaper youll feel much better about yourself in WSG:)

it really gets me mad at how nearly EVERYONE is all "i am gonna chop off the nuts of the hunter who rolls on this item" or A HUNTER STOLE THIS WEAPON. hunters a a mixed bred. we need both good ranged weapons and mele weapons that compliment the ranged. tanks arent the only ones who need stamina. now if this item dident have the crit rate it would be a total warrior weapon. sadly it dose have the crit bounus so STOP COMPLAING, hunters are gonna roll on this

warriors:

it is 2handed so mostly not used in instances because of 1hand and shield.
2nd argument against is the low max damage. warriors hit few times in pvp but need a high damage output at those few tries.
the dps is therefore not so important because it is counted as damage over time - a good warrior loves the reaper for that reason.( high max possible damage)
stats - crit% strenght and stamina help though.

2handed is basicly for grinding in my opinion but a classed paladin might give a good reason. a paladins advatnage is to have the shield and massive ac together with his healing capabilities. he can wait out his victory in pvp with a shield more easily. though damage might help too soemtimes but normaly few are build for crit%. mostly intelect gear on them and i asume a max dmage hit with a slow weapon helps them aswell more than this fast thing. well if it has to be a 2handed there are lots of options for warriors and palas.

hunter:
the other possibilites are barb blade or 2 dawns edge but i try to explain the reason why this might be good:

2 dawns edge = 2%crit BUT dualwielding produces lots ot misses and that leads to missed wing clips when it is most needed. dal rend set has the same problem therefore the barb blade is better than any dualwield set available now for hunters.

barb blade:
60 attackpower 1 %crit 2handed not bad. not higher failchance on wingclips massive hit because of 2handed for the few hits that a hunter tries.

treants axe:
2%crit 15 stam = 106 agility compared to barb blade with 52agi plus 30 from the converted attackpower it is nearly as good as treant but still u have the advantage about more power through the simplified comparison 106 agi versus 82 agi
then 150 life on treants axe- never wrong.

for the argues about hunters meleeing
i read a lot of comments saying that a good hunter doesnt melee. in real a hunter nearly always melees during a combat.

a warrior charges in but what do we expect here? a good warrior fights from range? ofc not :)
a good hunter keeps him on range for the whole fight? ofc not ;)

u can keep on thinking a mage wont let a hunter fight from max range but sometimes he makes a flaw and fights on max melee range. i use a crappy 2handed weapon at moment compared to treants axe but when i hit melee a so called good mage loses at least 1/3 of his life O_o. we have massive agi and therefore our crit% together with crit gear on melee is massive aswell keep that in mind. we dont produce as high numbers as a warrior but dont melee a hunter when u wear cloth gear is a rule of dumb.
treants axe is an increase to barb blade simply. an increase is always legitim to roll for.

so a hunters alternative IF he knows what he is doing is:

treants axe
barb blade
the epic 2handed with a little runincrease which will couse even more argues with melee classes.

if u understood the argues above ( needs a bit maturity for some i guess) then u should step back and let the hunter roll. he wont roll on other weapons in mc or wherever anymore simply because it is his final weapon.

warriors palas whoever can use that and need can roll too if the need exists but some day it will end in the trash for them and thats a pitty when u see the hunter beside u loving that weapon until blizzard creats new items.

it has a nice look (subj.) but dont be silly. the stats count for the most classed players.

hope i could enlighten some people that always argue the same about 2 dawns edge etc.

I'd love this as a MS warrior.

With all dps gear and then this, plus axe spec and cruelty, something like 25% + crit chance. only problem with it is the low max dmg. which leads me to think it's a nice fury war.

lol@the paladin saying he'd roll on this but thinks hunters shouldn't.

hunters make FAR better use of this weapon than paladins. for warriors, arcanite reaper is comparable for PVP because of the higher max damage range, although admittedly theses stats are droolworthy - but warriors use sword/shield primarily for instances. paladins are simply NOT a DPS class - yes, they may melee more than a hunter, but a paladin would be better off with int/stam/spirit weapons than strength and crit percentage.

1) Any warrior worth his weight would not want this weapon. go get a reaper.

2) any hunter who'd take this is an idiot (i'm a 60 hunter myself) go craft 2x dawns edge or get a barbarous blade.

3) shammy weapon or possibly 2h pally weapon. tho most pallys i see have a shield since they don't do any dmg anyway.

Hrmm, after 15x runs to DM to try to get the ogre forge hauberk Camisote forjado de ogro Has not dropped once for me. Pretty unlucky I guess, but the last run this item dropped! I rolled against 2 warriors (which they were cool about it btw)and won! Another win for the hunters! =)

But i guess it would not be a problem with the roll, who needs a hunter any way? u need them for like 2 min in molten core otherways they are more or less a crapp class that is good for solo grinding and maby some PvP. Give me a good reason to bring a hunter to a instance, i cant realy find any. I'm a level 59 hunter, and honestly I'm sick of hunters pretending that we are meleers. Sure, we melee in PvP, but in the end, if you are worth a damn in a raid, you will let this item go and find another way to get the +2% crit with weapons. Be creative. There are craftable items that can do it.

That's like a rogue rolling on your blastershot launcher. How pissed would you be? I know I would be so pissed I would &*!@ a whole house worth of bricks.

This weapon should be rolled on by melee classes; warrior, paladin, and enhancement shamans. If a shaman is really nice, they'd let this go to the warrior because the warrior is going to be tanking more and his/her damage is more important, but they have a right to roll.

If a hunter rolled on this, I'd refuse to group with them. If a warrior or rogue rolled on an epic ranged weapon, I'd try to see them blacklisted from raids.

Try to cooperate here, people. Instead of looking out for number one, and saying that you could use this for PvP, why not look at the chance that you might be fighting side by side with a crit-based warrior who could use this weapon a lot more than you can?

The level of egocentrism displayed by half the people on this thread disgusts me.

Reward for Exalted Reputation in Alterac Valley BG.

Great damage, 2% crit, neato proc, and at least if you put your mind to it, it's a lot easier to attain.

Not to mention it has a slower speed so the Windfury/Command Procs yield ridiculous amounts of burst damage.

I used to want this as an Enhancement Shaman, now I'm all for The Unstoppable Force.

1.8 upcoming changes just made this axe one of the best ones in game, especially in terms of how "hard" it is to get...which it isn't, just times some time and luck in DM ;)

50 AP, 2% crit, almost 60 base dps, woot!

(for those not caught up, basically ALL 2h weapons will be considered 3.3 second speed for MS/overpower/WW etc)

Now I remember the time I let some random person take this because it sucked at the time :(

basically what it boils down to is if you are a hunter an you can upgrade by getting this, you are gonna roll. yea it may be deutche to the warrior but how can you condemn a person for rolling for an item that they can use and will benefit them. its not a priest ninja-ing it its a hunter who will be better as a result of weilding the axe.

as a lvl 60 hunter who has run mc for some time i say this weapon is NOT better than barbarous blade.. the dps on a melee is not important, but the stats are. +60 attack pwr and +1% crit is much better the 2% crit. The +24 strenght is useless, the +15 stamina is nice but not enough to make me favor this weapon. This should go to a warrior

Last patch changed this weapon's speed from 2.70 to 3.40. Damage was also changed from 128-193 to 161-243.

I'll start this off by saying that I am a lvl 60 warrior. With that bias in mind I believe this is first and foremost a warrior weapon and if a warrior is in the group (which on horde side is basically guarenteed) he should have first dibs on it as he gets the *most* use out of it. Sure hunters get the 2% crit chance off of it, but as has been said before, 2 dawn's edges give that exact same bonus. And yes some hunters melee a fair amount, however their true power lies in their ranged attacks thus the DPS is not near as useful.

For a warrior, and expecially a crit specced one, this is one of the best swords in the game (only comparable to other lvl 60ish epic swords). For a hunter this is a very very good sword however the stats that it gives can be gotten on other much easier to find weapons. Basically I can see why a hunter would want this (it's a great hunter 2hdr) but if a hunter in my group beats me on a roll for this I will be pissed becuase it is moer useful to me.

Why do warriors feel they deserve EVERYTHING. I'm not gonna give up this axe to a warrior so he can use it in PvP. For everyday purposes, u keep your shield and 1H while i sit in the back and enjoy all my crits whilst you do what you're supposed to do, get the s*** knocked out of and get lots of it knocked out of u.

Been using this since I got it about a week ago, from Orge Tribute in Dire Maul, not a bad axe overall.

I did some tests using this axe and Arcanite Reaper, I found that I did more damage in PvP with Arcanite Reaper. On the other hand, the Treant's Bane is very useful in PvE.

I crit more with it, around 28% in berserker instance, so I switch to it when I am using Whirlwind to get more crits on different targets and so on.

This discussion will be more useful if we just stick to discussing the usefulness of an item rather than which class gets it. Just my thought, in the mean time I really enjoyed using this axe alot.

Seriously, heres my POV, hunters can use this weapon fair enough but if you were the greedy f*cker who rolled and won on this item as a hunter u have absolutly no f*cking regard whatsoever for the classes that take all the dmg to keep u and all the other classes around him alive so roll if u want but by god u will be a hated person for a long time because of the greed that ur roll would produce, go get a f*cking razor axe of agi plzthx

This dropped on probably about the 32nd run that Ive done of Tribute. I'm only counting to see how many it takes to get my Quel'Serra book :-)

There was myself and a Hunter interested in this axe, myself being a Warrior (Skywall). As agreed upon by us both we would mainly use this in PVP, we both rolled. I outrolled him and still decided to give it up. Due to being a full Prot Spec, I dont much PVP anymore and when I do, I go duel weild for the crusader and fiery enchants on my single handed axes, not to mention the constant stats/chance on hit and equip bonuses I get from them.

however, had I of actually bothered to "see what it looked like", only checked the stats when it dropped :-/ I would have taken this brute of an Axe and re-spec'd Arms on the spot :-P

Edit: lol nvm.. if this weapon had 3.70 in speed with the same dps, and not 2.70, it would had been useable, 2 less dps than unstoppable force on my pally.

But with that crappy fast speed, it's even more useless (for dps!) than Finkle's. 125,23 dps with crit and AP, now that ain't too much.

I'm a warrior and my fellow hunter clanmates would let me roll on this as a NEED item. If a hunter uses 2h axes I have no problem with them rolling on this item to get the benefit of the agility. Stop being so dumb. Any class that can wield 2h axes should be able to roll. PERIOD!

Basically, if you want this, get your guild and friends to help you get it. If you got a pickup group, and its in there, good luck deciding who gets it, cause either way, someone is gunna get blacklisted.

I'm a hunter and I'm gunna get it. Sooner or later. If you want a pally or warrior or shaman to get it, then help them get it.

Warriors: not for MS buddy - get a reaper or Unstoppable Force.
Hunters: Barbarous Blade is better with a slower bow, the best bow you can get is slow, therefore shh (I asked an experienced MC hunter about this).

I agree that it is good for any class that can use it. However, I would roll on this as a warrior.

Why?

Well, hunters want agi and crit chance. I think two dawns edges and +agi enchants would be better for them. Dont start ranting about bigger wingclips. 95% or more of your damage is ranged.

Paladins would want this very much indeed. I think axes are warrior weapons first. They can have all swords and maces for all I care. If I was in a guild raid with a paladin friend, Id have to think hard about it.

I currently use a reaper, and this axe would do 44 less damage per hit, and reduce the MS crits somewhat, but lets face it. 2% crit on a weapon is huge.

Call me greedy if you want. I still get more DPS out of it than any other class.

Well, most pallys won't be rolling on this, at least if they have half a brain because of the fast speed. The relatively fast 2h speed A: reduces SoC proc rate(per swing) and B: reduces SoC damage per proc over the ice barbed spear, Arcanite reaper, or The Unstoppable Force. Most warriors would be better of getting a weapon swap macro and hitting overpower with the arcanite reaper than going for this beast. Hunters actualy get just as much out of ir as warriors do, since it increases their damage (+2% Crit) and their HP total. Also telling hunters who are in smaller guilds that might not even be able to run through ZG to go Kill Azuregos for the typhoon is just wasting your breath, although Typhoon is a superior weapon to this for hunters, and perhaps many fury warriors.

This is the second best hunter weapon out there. The other is out epic staff, however, the staff can also be the one of the best bows in the game. If a hunter had this, he would be set forever.

Pros: 2% crit, which yes is around 106-8 agility worth, but doesnt bring the attackpower agility does. its about 10 less dps from 100 ap loss. however hunters have a very small base crit, and we are the only class with a skill that gives all (ranged) crits 50% more damage (reduced to 30% in the next patch). Which in the end makes the most important proc.

15 stamina = 150.. which equals a few more seconds to feign death, or get healed.

And at last the probably best pro reason. Strength. As some posted before me, hunters are not all ranged. It all depends on the situation, and mostly who you are fighting. 25strength = 50 ap for me. which basicly is 10% more ap on my melee. Hunters are very in melee too. And we have to use it more than often because our crit pulls the targets of our pets.

I'd roll on this axe anyday of the week with my hunter. And thats that. However few will probably ever get the chance. :(

i agree that this is a better PVE wpn, i don't actually have one but i know a few people who do and they love it. as a warrior myself i would love to get my hands on one, because i don't have time to farm the money or items to make a reaper, nor do i really want one. everyone has one and in the end everyone ends up looking the exact same. I am a prot spec warrior but i still do DPS when i get tired of tanking. I am not going to argue with you guys over anything because i believe ya but the 2% to crit is huge to someone woh doesn't have all the talents into arms/fury like one speced wholy in them

A hunter rolling on a great 2h axe is like a warrior rolling on an awesome Range weapon.

Yes you can use it, yes you'll benefit for having it... but no (Hunter/Warrior) will ever let you live with owning it. ;)

And yes, this is an awesome axe for a warrior. If you're a warrior going into DM, make sure you lay claim to this drop long before the group even takes their first step inside... otherwise, it's fair game should the (hunter/paladin/ect.ect.) decide to roll.

This is a great hunter item. You get 2% crit which affects your ranged and you get sta which gives you hit points. Frankly, warriors are better off with other items to weapon switch macro overpower rogues with. Its not like their primary attack is with a two hander anyways. Our guild war actually messaged me to tell me about this thing because he knew I'd want it.

im a paladin, and i would roll for this myself, even if the warrior in the group needed (i have the barbarous blade). i would however be pretty mad if a hunter rolled since all his damage is done with his bow, and he never has to do any melee damage. if he has, he uses wingclip, perhaps a raptor strike, gets at range, and uses his bow again.

I (60 Shaman) won this after tanking a tribute run, and as a shaman its worthless in pvp. I would not have taken it, but I was the only person in the group who could even use it. Average windfury crits are around 500-600, my aurastone hammer crits about as hard. Bottom line the 193 max damage is much too low for this to be much use to a warrior/pally/shaman, leave it for the hunters so you don't get dissapointed.
I only use this now for vanity, cause im pretty sure im the only horde on darkspear with it 80)

How do you get this item? I've been told you have to use your ogre suit after you open the final door and go right to the boss then fight him. But in that screenshot of the hunter with the axe, the mobs are all cleared.

Is thier any trick to this? Or is it just a random drop?

Average damage is too low for Mortal Strike.

Hunters can get +2 crit easier from dual dawns.

Leave this weapon to the paladins and shamans, please.

As for you 'fury warriors' who think flurry is awesome, shamans get it too, and windfury to boot. We're going to get more DPS out of the weapon.

Found this 2 days ago. I'm a warrior, and the only other who could use this in our group was a paladin, so we decided I should get it. It's quite nice for PvE, but for PvP it wont replace my reaper ;)

As a MS warrior (31/20/0)and reaper user I can say that PvE, inside(situation permitting) and outside instances, this thing blows the reaper DPS out of the water. With some crit gear stacked with the axe's +crit you'll find yourself critting once every 3 swings or so.

PvP though, the reaper is leaps and bounds better than Treant's. In PvE you'll find that fights last long enough for the +crit to materialize and make the dps difference. In PvP you'll rarely see fights lasting longer than 10 seconds, you need the heavy burst damage that the reaper delivers.

Those are my finding with 2 weeks use and testing with Treant's and the reaper.

Everyone here has stated something that's... stupid. Fast weapons are good. But, what you all want is a weapon that deals HUGE damage in a hit. If you had a weapon with an attack speed of 1, and damage of 300-400 a hit, you'd all orgasm in your pants when you used it. But, the thing is, if I can hit you 3 times, and deal as much damage as you do in one strike, why do we care?

This weapon is legit for anyone to roll on... you're greedy if you say otherwise. I am a 60 hunter and I have my own reservations against dual wielding. I am currently using the Barbarous blade and would MUCH rather be using this. Shamans and warriors that wanna b1tch. Here let me show you 2 weapons that blow this out of the water for your class. It's rediculous that you would pretty much say a hunter is not allowed to have an epic melee weapon because he's not supposed to be meleeing.

The LOW attack speed is plenty of a reason for a warrior to pass, their skills woould beinifit more off even a doomsaw. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't get mad at them for rolling, but if I were a warrior I'd be trying for a different blade.

Shamans - Earthshaker(Tiemblatérrea stfu, it drops off the 2nd boss in MC if you can't get there or aren't working on getting there... /gquit

Warriors - Treant's is a childs toy compared to the Obsidian Edged Blade (Hoja afilada obsidiana garr in mc, 4th boss also easy.

Lets see... other epic swords that would be good for hunters.

You were lucky the warriors were nice people, but frankly you shouldnt have this weapon. This is a weapon for Melee classes. How would you like it if someone rolled on a purple gun, since you are a LONG RANGE class.

If it were on our server, you'd never set foot in one of the instances again with a 5 man or raid group.

I got tired of reading all the posts here, but i will tell u this. I am lvl 60 warrior (horde) and i want this axe. And it doesnt mean i will use it till end game or whatever, but i want it because i like 2h axes and this one is really awesome. As for now it is my dreamaxe. Dont give me that crap to whom this weapon should go. DM is 5 ppl instance, so just get a team and go farm it. I will have it one day and i would like to meet another (class) who has it too and then we will see which one of us is better at wielding it.

one thing im doing for my shaman is making him twink at every BG lvl except 19...cuz i didnt get to use 2h weps. im looking forward to getting this b/c i like the insane crit off this, if anyone wants to help me make the ultimate enhancement shammy twink on bronzebeard, then hit up ieatdwarves, right now he's doing 49 and even though he's wearing a few greens, no one has beaten me 1 on 1, even the full on twinks. and if some of u new shamans need some help for leveling, hit me up for some info cuz i havent died taking on quadruple teams pve either :)

It's a godly 2H fury warrior weapon. I normally wouldn't agree with being a 2H fury warrior but the 2.70 weapon speed voids that out completely. If you're horde and roll orc and get this thing as a warrior, you're blessed. You only need 6% hit cap and even less if youre pvping.. leaving more gear slots open to stack crit. You can achieve 30+ crit % chance unbuffed if you put the work in to get the proper gear/enchants to surround this axe. It's just beast and so fun to use in both pvp and pve. Can't beat the way it looks either.. so badass.
