Scarlet Monastery Rendered in Unreal Engine
28/10/2020 a las 14:19
3D Artist David Chan has recreated iconic Warcraft dungeon Scarlet Monastery in Unreal Engine. Recreating game worlds inside Unreal has become very popular in recent years, as we recently saw with
, and although these fan recreations are usually not completely true to Blizzard's art style, they make a good example of the high level of detail that the World of Warcraft could have in Unreal Engine 4.

A few words from the artist:
This is my version of Scarlet Monastery done in Unreal Engine 4.
The Scarlet Monastery is a dungeon from World of Warcraft which I personally love due to the architecture and just the sheer amount of times I went through this area in the game. I choose this environment to try and put everything I taught myself over the years into a 3d scene and to push my knowledge even further about 3D environment art. I wanted to create a small video of this scene, but unfortunately I kept crashing and I believe I need to upgrade my video card. Perhaps a video will be done in the future.
This project too me about 4-5 weeks and if your interested in seeing my progress come see my blog.
Over on the
Scarlet Monastery blog
. David Chan has written five weekly updates on the process, highlighting lighting, foliage, props, stairs, textures and more! It's fascinating seeing the building come to life from the early abstract blocks.
