These abilities were very deadly to tanks with Mutilar
hitting very hard and Ablandar
applying a stacking
debuff that increases damage taken. Ablandar
is cast frequently enough to allow the debuffs to stacks, so at higher key levels, Tanks would have to run away in order to drop stacks and stop taking increased damage. At 8 yards, it was annoying but not too hard to do so. However, these hotfixes have made it even harder to drop these stacks by increasing the range of these abilities to 15 yards
doing slightly less damage now will help for lower keys, but with tanks having to outrange 15 yards now to drop stacks, some slow classes like Death Knights will need external help to create distance.
For high keys, this is probably a buff as Tanks may actually be in more danger than before
due to being unable to drop stacks. Also, these abilities are considered "Anti-Kite" which means that if the Tank is out of range, they'll actually cast them on the nearest player. Melee definitely love anti-kite mechanics.
