, this week's GG WoW video takes a look back at the 10.0 experience and all the changes it brought! Dratnos and Tettles try to cover all of the major changes to WoW PvE in this video and talk about how well each change has worked so far and where we might go from here.
Leveling is the first topic, where after some initial server problems the general community sentiment around leveling has been very positive, perhaps due to general high quality zones and quests, but also due to dragonriding and the refined Adventure Mode available to alts. After hitting max level, players had two weeks before the season began, which were largely filled with a race to acquire 370+ gear from sources like Mythic 0 dungeons, rare and "
super rare
" enemies that dropped scaling item level rewards, and weekly events like
Dragonbane Keep
.
Season one then began and brought with it several
big changes to Mythic Plus
- the first being an updated loot structure that rewarded keys all the way up to +20. Dratnos and Tettles are very positive about this change, and are also generally happy about the concept of rotating in old dungeons into each season. The seasonal affix, Thundering, is something they're both less excited about, but despite that they are having fun with keys this season which is exciting for the future when the seasonal affix might be in the pro rather than the con column.
The raid,
Vault of the Incarnates
, also dropped after the first two weeks, with all difficulties releasing at once. A full post mortem on this decision will likely happen sometime down the line but the raid in general has been fun for both Dratnos and Tettles, though Tettles more than Dratnos, as Dratnos notes that the fights themselves are less good on average than most tiers in the last five years, but the build customization options of the new Talent system has largely kept him enjoying progression.
Professions were also overhauled this expansion and, despite many players making mistakes early with their profession choices or knowledge point commitments, it's definitely accomplished the goal of making Professions relevant and deep.
