I am guessing but I think most the people who are ok with no flying didn't play in BC when getting your epic flying mount was in fact a monumental achievement in and of itself, gold was not as easy to obtain as it is now and the few epic mounts outside the faction mounts took a lot of time and effort to obtain and you felt a sense of "I got it...I finally got it after all that work" now it's just...meh..yeah I got one.See what everyone is missing is the fact that we are all just cookie cutter avatars anymore blindly allowing whatever blizz want's to give and just $%^&* about it but never really do anything about.Blizzard does not care what it's players care about ...period..they can say they do all they want but actions speak louder than wordsI play because I enjoy the people in my guild and honestly I only have 2 lvl 100 chars in Wod Compared to having 6 max lvl chars in Wrath because I enjoy older content I level a lot of chars that I end up deleting and doing it again because Wod is boring as hell outside of raiding...crafting is crap now..I hate it and the questing in WoD imho is worse than Cata.Take away flying isn't going to make me enjoy the game more cause I flew in Wrath and loved every minute I played, if the lead dev is so into exploring the game then put some damn content in the game worth exploring...
I think Blizzard did a really good job on raids and gearing and stuff in 6.1, and in WoD in general. Pity that it's only part of the over game, and of the overall WoW experience. For me, being able to fly in a zone was an important achievement, and one of the first things I've done on all of my many alts. That was taken away in WoD, and in return they created a small world with cramped zones and some jumping/platforming puzzles. IMHO, we really got shafted in that trade. At max level, the biggest obstacle to exploring the world isn't the mobs, it's the terrain, especially on the edges of zones and in Spires of Arak, so any alleged benefits of nofly even more useless.WoD may be lots of fun for the dev team, but as a customer, I'm disappointed. And judging from the subscription numbers, I'm not the only one. I'd love to know how many more subs they lost this week, but I'm sure that information won't be available for the Saturday Q&A.So I've given up on WoW for now. I don't even know why I'm posting here, or paying attention to WoW news. Maybe it's a combination of schadenfreude and gawking, or maybe I'm just not fast at moving on.
Spent a lot of time collecting flying mounts
Mortal Online looks to be promising, WoW pre Cata will always be the best of times for me as a player and will continue to play but the way things are heading it is no longer the game I fell in love with and spent all my free time playing and will spend less time chasing that next amazing achievement or mount, so I guess as long as I feed the Blizzard piggy bank they will continue to come up with the next big over hyped disappointment.
No flying means no buying any more expansions for me...
If you don't want to use flying mounts, then you don't need to. Keep yourself on the ground while everyone else enjoy using their flying mounts, soaring through the sky.Where were you when they added extensive flying in Cataclysm, and kept flying at max level in Mists of Pandaria? Did you threaten to unsubscribe as protest, keep yourself on the ground and boycotted flying mounts, or just shrugged at it and used flying mounts anyway? If it's the last then you're a damn hypocrite.I know I'll be enjoying the sky in Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward.
pretty ballsy for blizzard to drop flying... and have the gall to charge cash for fling mounts i guess the assimilation by the EA borg is complete
For a while now I have felt as if Blizzard doesn't really care about the players and community as a whole. I have had some bad customer service experiences which have contributed to this. Blizzard feels like an insurance company. Take your money and as long as you don't have a claim all is fine. Have a problem and you have to talk to multiple gm's or cs reps who all say it is your fault or you waited too long. My favorite was it's built into the game and automatic and no one can change it. There seems to be this attitude that Blizzard knows what's best for us and doesn't care what we think about that. To announce no flying when your current store mount is a flying mount seems more than a bit two faced. This expansion has lacked a lot for me and many of my friends and guild mates feel the same. Many have left or are leaving. I had hoped after watching some of Blizzcon last year that things might change for better. Now I am beginning to have trouble finding reasons to stay.
BZ created flying to impress the players. And now they cannot figure out a creative way to impress us with flying, so you guys enjoy no flying. Not a smart move. Definitely
No more flying is really disappointing :(
Any new content going forward. So no flying in Draenor or anything past that. Also seems likely they will never fix the flying in old zones like the draenai and blood elf starting zones.
