Just got my Long-Forgotten mount a few days ago... I will be riding it :)
Oh Blizzard, why are you so cruel... Got this little fella to hang around with, was so happy... Then I went rated BG around midnight to get my daily win... Completed it and the RBG took my Hippogryph buff away permanently, it's 10 minutes after midnight and I'm literally crying. Please someone hug me.
If you want to keep your hippogryph dont go to the brawl, it will remove it because not having a helmet or shoulders are a huge advantage even when you can just transmog those off
The fact is, though, you don't need to "waste time" on the event. It's been restated time and time again, since before micro-holidays were even implemented, that they aren't intended for reward or any kind of permanent gain. If a player goes in expecting a reward regardless, yes, their time has been wasted, but not by the holiday itself; only by their own expectations. They're meant to be interesting and playful little nuggets of world-building scattered throughout the year that make Azeroth feel more alive. I love mounts, pets, toys, titles, and achievements as much as the next guy, but micro-holidays are more about community and, yes, fun. You're not going to unlock the "Parade Leader" title for leading a mount train around Dalaran, you aren't going to get a rare pet for mailing a grateful guildie the last pet they need for a Raiding With Leashes achieve, and you aren't going to get a toy for being one of the twenty people in trade on any given night linking Thunderfury to this day. These things are just fun, interpersonal things you do with the other people who play this game! If you don't find them fun, you don't need to participate, and that's fine too.The Great Gnomeregan Run in October is a prime example for me; did I get any tangible rewards? No. Did I have an absolute blast jogging all the way from Gnomeregan to Booty Bay, protecting and rezzing the party of buck naked level one Gnomes I happened to start at the same time as? You betcha. It's often said that the journey is the destination. For micro-holidays, let the event be the reward.
I seem to have lost the buff with 4 days left. As far as I can tell, it was wiped when I entered the arena brawl.
It's so sad to read these same discussions every time a micro-holiday is up. Yes, it's just for fun - and those of you who are angry because it's not enough fun for them, please just ignore it then.People seem to forget that the whole game is supposed to be for fun, for enjoying your free time. You play it to have fun. If you don't have fun doing a specific aspect of it, don't do it. If you don't enjoy pvp, don't pvp. If you don't enjoy fishing, don't fish. If you don't enjoy raiding, don't raid. If you don't enjoy roleplaying, don't engage in it. If you don't enjoy micro-holidays that don't give permanent rewards, just ignore them. That's perfectly fine. But - there's simply no reason in the world to be angry at blizzard for implementing stuff you don't personally enjoy or to be angry at other players who actually like that stuff. So please... stop with that "useless, boring, blah" negativity, it's getting old.
Does anyone actually give a damn about these micro-holidays?
After flying around forever south of Dire Maul, I found the grounds, to the right of the Ruins of Isildien (left on the map 55, 71) on the shelf.
Personally I find it much more satisfying to sit in a queue on character after character for a 2 minute battle hoping a pink mount will drop. Such fun. Much joy.
