Blizz and changing things in fights 3 months after the factName a more iconic duo
Does this mean melee characters or people within a certain range?
A welcome change but not really necessary imo, my guild never had an issue with them. G'huun on the other hand still hasn't be killed on heroic for us.
Lol are you serious? Melee are often seated due to ranged being easier to deal with in so many fights. Ranged is playing on easy mode.
Ranged are most definitely not easy mode. A combination of casting times and often more mechanics to deal with means you actually need to pay attention instead of pretending to be a turret. But to say that melee are favored/easier/whatever is blatantly wrong. You're allowed to have an opinion on this, of course, but the fact remains. On mythic raiding ranged are always favored over melee by guilds (hell, even in lower difficulties). A ranged might lose more or less damage by being forced to use instant casts when a mechanic requires movement. But melee deal absolutely 0 damage if anything, for any reason, gets them away from the boss. Is there a spreading ability involved? Ranged are preferred. Is there anything requiring cc or soaking? Ranged are preferred. Whenever there's a mechanic that puts distance and/or space in the equation ranged are peferred. You can argue all day about how melee are in fact better off, but the simple truth is that all your arguments are pointless, because even if you're somehow right against all common practice and theorycrafting it doesn't change the fact that ranged will always be given higher priority than melee. As for this nerf in particular... it may be a bit heavy-handed. Realistically, as it was the fight imposed a limit of about 5 melee, and many would bring even less to make their lives easier, but completely removing the mechanic from melee, especially in lower difficulties where there's no add to deal with in P1, significantly reduces the encounter difficulty. Could it have been handed differently? Not sure. Reducing the odds for melee to get targeted could have been an option, but it's also complicated comparatively. Perhaps reducing the total amount of orbs? Melee would've still been worse off, but at least it would eliminate the issue of orbs repeatedly appearing in melee range and make the melee's already miserable lives unbearable. There are definitely options. But honestly, it shouldn't have been so melee-unfriendly in the first place. Melee are already getting the short end of the stick, and half the Uldir bosses make it even worse for them.
Melee always whining
Melee whining? Well alright, I never saw ranged dps complain about getting benched half of the boss fights in a mythic raid. Why is that? Ranged being less whiny...?Maybe, just maybe, because ranged rarely get benched for being a liability in boss fight. Which happens to melee classes all the time. So, dear ranged dps, be happy to be able to run from mechanics while still being able to attack the boss while your melee colleagues have to sit outside and watch.
This has made the boss so incredibly cheese now.
Mythic Mythrax just became a walk in the park ... thanks Blizzard now we can faceroll till G'huun lolz.
