Will be so much better if Blizz focus on retail instead of re-making old expansions. We all have a hope that Shadowlands will fix everything previously broken in BFA. Personally I think that all issues we had in BFA was due to the fact that blizz was working hard on Classic and they didnt put too much efforts and care for retail. The results were- many people left WoW BFA and now some of them are waiting for Shadowlands, but if blizz continue focusing on old expansions maybe Shadowlands be the same &*!@ show as BFA.
It would be important (!) that it is not a transfer from classic server to BC server, but a copy. Else a person that doesn't like BC or likes classic more can't go back to classic. So please copy, not transfer.
meh classic was terrible . blizzard are too lazy to make normal content so they make the most nerfed 1.12 version of it . with tbc its gonna be the same . instead of making patch by patch release with prenerfed content - blizzard gonna just release 2.4.3 version . so ye i was dissapointed by classic and not gonna play tbc if it comes out .
Where we can answer this quiz?
I cannot say i didn't see this coming a mile away with a straight face, because a classic server can't stay classic forever and have this illusion of expectation that people will continue to play it forever.I feel like Blizzard boxed themselves into a corner here by even making classic servers to begin with, and whether there was any foresight on the inevitable. They must of had people yelling across tables in board meetings about the very thing i am typing.1. It splits personnel into management and server operations for a *free service. 2. It creates a uncontrollable expectation for pushing out content to the players who will eventually consume all Classic has to offer, creating a situation that will lead them operating essentially a second retail service, again, for *free. My only hope is that they hired a completely fresh team of staffers to manage Classic, because it's not going to be Classic forever.I know there will be a lot that do not and will not agree with this, but Classic should be shut down before it starts this cycle of giving players the expectations of reliving WoW 1.0 all the way up to WoW-present a second time, or how many times players want.I also have a difficult time wrapping my head around the idea that this was all because of a Classic private server.EDIT: I should omit a slight oversight on something i was absent-minded on, the service is technically not free since players *still have to subscribe to a normal World of Warcraft, so i added a asterisk.
LETS F**KING GO! There is literally nothing I could be more excited for. I explored classic as a kid and fell in love with the game, took a break for exams and came back to play hardcore in WOTLK. Not playing TBC is my number 1 regret in life and I would MURDER some serious hours on this game.
Can't wait for bfa classic
Keep all the current realms classic and make all new twinned burning crusade servers possibly with a new bc server name.Have a 1-2 month period where players can choose to permanently move a current character to the twinned BC server in order to keep the same names ect. After this time have a period where new players or characters can be made starting at 60.
Just add classes, races, continents, zones, flying and content, but don't touch the numbers. Do not increase level cap, change only stats by little in items. Keep the spirit and fill the game with options.
This one: Continue playing my current Classic character on my existing server that will never progress past level 60, with the option to transfer to a Burning Crusade server.
I don't like the idea of Tbc servers. The whole appeal of Classic was to return to an old world, a static system changed and taken away in retail, and experience it again. Tbc stuff is still there, mostly untouched, and i think people won't be as nostalgic about it as Classic. If Tbc servers are created, where do we draw the line before Wotlk servers are created? Then Cataclysm? A second World of Warcraft, progressing separately only on the basis of nostalgia of some players? I know many players will be delighted to return to the old times, but in my opinion it's unappealing and will only splinter the playerbase. There will always be pleasant memories in the past, but maybe it's better to let it rest than be disillusioned by it. Classic+ is a far more interesting option, as there were many unfinished things and plots in Vanilla but i'm sure it will be considered a controversial move, maybe even demanding a separate lore timeline.
no no no no no><
Give it double talent xpec and i will play it.
i never understood the #nochanges folk . because of you classic is a boring afkfest with 0 content . blizzard was supposed to make raids harder because its not 2005 for god sake . just look at private servers that do a much better job at recreating content because they make raids harder than they actually were . ppl need to get over their nostalgia and the fact that its not 2005 and community has grown and needs harder raiding .
Has to be the first or the fourth option. Second option seems silly - you should have to level from 1 in some capacity, whether it's creating a new character or playing a character you levelled in Classic. Third option seems unfair - no reason why players shouldn't have the option to continue with their Classic characters. In essence, the difference between the remaining two options is that one is opt-out and the other is opt-in. I'd be more inclined to go with the opt-in system. It has some advantages, e.g. a player might not be sure if they want to play TBC, so they could keep playing Classic while they decide and then transfer later. But with the opt-out system, if their Classic realm becomes a TBC realm and they have to choose to transfer back to Classic, how does that work? Are they blocked from logging into their character until they choose whether or not they'll transfer it back to Classic? Or can they play TBC and then go back to Classic and just lose some levels? Would their character revert to how it was before Classic started, or would they just lose TBC-related progress? Does the latter even make sense if certain Classic stuff changed in TBC? Or if you have to choose whether or not to transfer before you log in, I guess you then have to do that on every single character you own? Seems like a hassle. The opt-out system could also confusion, which would be really bad if the game stops you from ever going back to classic once you've logged into a character on TBC. It seems dumb but someone could log in thinking Classic has changed to TBC and there's nothing they can do about it.The opt-in system (the fourth option in the list) seems like the cleanest way to do it. You log into Classic, a pop-up appears saying "The Burning Crusade has been released, click here for the option to transfer some of your characters." Easy. The opt-out method is contrived and causes more issues.
Hardcore. Start from level 1 on a new Burning Crusade Server.Everyone starts the same and if you want to continue playing classic, do.
Why just not let players copy our existing chars in classic to TBC. Would make the most sense..
Honestly, as unlikely as it is, I'd like to see them find a way to implement all of these as possible choices. I can't pick one.
I want Classic Legion
