Trolls and Dwarves so far have the best customization options, *chef's kiss*Until we get revealed the human face options, cause TBH no other race is going to get that level of facial customization -gosh I wish belves would get that as the most human like Horde race, but really all races should get different features; it's crazy that WoW is 15 years old and is so lacking in options compared to other MMORPGs-
I like the customization options but I'm having a great deal of difficulty and concern understanding what players are supposed to do here..with tribes, clans, whole cultures and peoples who aren't actually represented and are only mimicked. I can make a troll or dwarf look like sand or wildhammer all day but I'm sad that our brothers and sisters and fellow cultures of azeroth won't actually get any quest or small scenario or little cut scene or even a simple true acknowledgement in game. I've always loved the races and histories and cultures and lore in wow and don't want it to get watered down now whit players getting to pretend they're a race when they're actually not that race at all and are only pretending to be one through customization and cosmetics. I can make a grimtotem all day long but doesn't mean I am one, unless blizzard please says something in game (not out of game in an interview with people I don't watch). I like to have some reason behind my character, some fulfillment of where I come from and why I'm adventuring and fighting alongside the horde, I don't want a nebulous, imaginary notion that I am when it's not real. I don't mean to be a downer at all I really don't but lots of these customization options seem to be taking the place or real tribes, clans and cultures. That's not really something I admire or look forward to in the future when more races are only added via skin tones and eye color and tattoos and never truly receive their own well-deserved and loved race-specific inclusion. Just stating my concerns because everyone seems to be loving the customization but aren't considering what it really means which is we might get branches of races all rolled into one, leaving it up the players new and old, to just figure it out. I'm also teh player who likes to take new players under my wing and show them the ropes and explain stuff as much as I can but I don't know how to tell new or returning players that they're not actually the race they're playing, eek! Imagine if nightborne never got their story but we only get the option to pretend we're one, through darker skin tone options? freakin' weird man. Thanks for readin'Snug
it would be nice if blizzard gave trolls facial hair, similar to Zul'jin and Vol'jin!
i want trolls to get beards
Nifty as they look, the troll's skeletal tattoos are a terrible idea. It's like putting a diagram on yourself telling your enemy "stab here"
The fact that they're letting Darkspear customize as different tribes is exciting in itself, but even more exciting is that it and Wildhammer customization open the floodgates for being able to customize other races to things outside of the strict in game race. Man'ari, earthen, gilgoblin, mechagnomes (fully robotic ones from WotLK), fel orcs, etc are no longer out of the question now that Blizzard seems to be more open to letting the players RP/headcanon to justify their characters' existence.
Errr... I wouldn't call those as "tattoos". "Face paint" or "war paint" would suit much better..
