Feels kind of redundant because why would anyone not want to make the legendary at its best possible ilevel?edit: My current thinking is that maybe they're taking a route where instead of you just crafting a legendary once and then never doing anything further with it, you'll instead want to re-forge the legendary effectively once per tier which I guess will keep the professions actually crafting #$%^ through the expansion.
Pretty sure I remember reading once even if you craft one at a lower level it can be upgraded to a higher one later... please, someone correct me if I'm wrong
Sounds like a bit of a grind. On a semi-related note. All the old max level recipes from Classic/TBC/Wrath etcetera are scaled to level 50 ilvl 100... including Nightfall (Although only for newly crafted ones as far as I can tell). The tooltip even says it's effect is effective until the enemy is above level 60, so that could be pretty huge for a short while, though sadly useless in Shadowlands raids and the like.
curious if you can just upgrade the legendary with the materials along the way like what we do with the cloak upgrades in current retail
This CAN BE GOOD!As long as you can upgrade it without having to recraft A system like this could work amazing, if done correctly
Let's all just remember that we're slowly transitioning from our borrowed power coming from quests (artifacts, essences, the Heart of Azeroth) to now having to actually pay for it in large amounts of crafting materials. I imagine it'll only be another expansion or two before whatever the equivalent of covenants and soulbinds are will have a buy-in as well.
Wouldn't be surprise if this will see more gates at all. You may want to have the low level legendary in order to be able to do the content for the higher ones. Bad example: To get the next legendary level unlocked you need to time a +10 key or similar. Bringing the material will be nothing to be concerned about.
If you craft them at level 1 and then can't upgrade them to 4, this is going to be the worst %^&* ever. I hope this is not the case.
I'm fairly certain that this system is just incomplete. I can't imagine they would make you able to craft 4 different ranks of a legendary without an upgrade system. It makes sense that you can straight craft a legendary at max rank if you have the resources for it, but having to re-craft the same legendary at each rank? Very weird. I would guess they'll implement something to upgrade the legendary at 100 Ash per rank.
In my opinion it should cost slightly more to craft at left one then upgrade to 4 (for example 1200) than let's say to outright buy it (for example 1000)
You forget that the raid isn't available at release. Every raider probably has the max level legendary for the mythic race when the mythic raid opens 4 weeks after expansion launch (like in bfa). thats probably all they need because it seems like players can only wear one piece of legendary item at that point.
You can make 2 more base items for legendaries in JC as well, article should be updated to include JC so people are aware of more options than what the armor ones givehttps://imgur.com/a/0cceTFQ
I really don't understand something...in order to craft more lvl u need to craft 10 times the same piece or u craft other pieces?
Really looking forward to this!
Seems obvious that this is an incomplete upgrade system. Crafting the same item in 4 ranks is too ridiculous
