Is anyone surprised? It would of been surprising if they changed the pvp formula of sockets or fixed this what seems like a bug.
Simple solution to the actual age-old problem here:Step 1: Eliminate general world PvP and restrict it to battlegrounds, arenas or other specially dedicated zones / instancesStep 2: In those zones, standardize iLvl and deactivate all abilities and procs from gear, trinkets, expansion-specific borrowed power mechanics (that includes covenant abilities, soulbinds etc.), so ultimately, player skill and PvP talent choices is the only thing that will matter in PvP.-> Problem solved.
Want bugs to be reported quicker and have many people actively looking for bugs? -bug bounty. Offer wow time.. or even $$$ when you find bugs. Alternatively set up calculation checkers that stick a log into a db or an active reader to parse out anomalies... (if this was a bug and not planned to be completely stupid screwy).. Building in their own refreshing ML/automation.. could further help to save time in reviewing. They seem to be all about saving time and money, so why not? If it was planned... why even have gear do anything in pvp?
I would like to personally welcome our new one-shotting mega-overlord pvp developer!
Everyone should be on equal footing in PvP. PvE it does not matter, there is Mythic and all that so let people grind that gear, but in PvP? It should be your skill that matters and not your gear. If I get stomped it should be because my enemy is a great player not because they have gear that is 15 ilvls higher. I want to call "this guy" the best Mage in the world because of his mad skills only.
When you fix the exploit and not the actual issue that caused it. #Hackerman
They for sure fixed the wrong thing in this situation. That's a shame
PvP = The gift that keeps on giving :D
Isn't it hilarious how they can quickly fix this, but not the $%^&*!ed, stupid and broken issue itself?
They could have easily changed the 0.6 pvp ilvl to, say, 0.4, by changing one number -- a variable for that matter -- in the millions of lines of codes.Instead, they had to change the codes to how/when the pvp ilvl is computed. Who knows what new bugs are introduced.GG Blizzard at fixing an easy problem by fixing a non-problem the difficult way.
