Damn, let's just relax for ONE day before the endless speculation starts. Leave them alone and try to show a little patience.
It's going to be weeks of seeing comments of people demanding every article that's not about release date be about the release date.
My bet would be either the 10th or the 17th of November.
I'm going with Dec 1st drop.I'm hoping they can smooth things out in 2 monthsAt this point what's a little more time if its going to be one of the best or at least better expansions.Sadly the longer it takes the harsher the critics will be when it drops.GL Blizz.
December minimum for the release date. For those that say COVID is just an excuse because peeps can work from home and Zoom call, that doesn't work for everything on big projects. You are also forgetting that WoW is a retail product, and whilst the move to digital downloads from physical media has become a thing there is still the factor that many people like to buy the physical product instead of purchase off a website (even when physical product is a box with download key). WoW expansions normally have game stores around the world having midnight openings for release days, and get people lining up around the block - not gonna happen with pandemic restrictions in sane places in the world. You've also got many places in the USA, Europe and Asia showing signs of heading into third or more waves of the virus, and social license is a big thing for companies these days so they might be keeping an eye on how those waves develop before locking in a definite date. Then factor in all else that has been mentioned coming in this crowded gaming calendar at the back end of 2020. Xbox & Playstation launches which is gaining heaps of attention, Cyberpunk which is making heaps of noise (doesn't matter from a marketing perspective that it's single player), CoD and other smaller releases. Then throw in the USA election, Thanksgiving and Christmas closing in and you can throw most of the old WoW time frames out the window. I do find it funny though that a lot of the voices complaining about the delayed release are the same voices that complained about Beta for Azeroth, so you'd think if the delay is because Blizz wants to finish polishing and working on balance issues those peeps would be happy - nah only joking, we know they can never be happy lol.As for those armchair lawyers crying TOS violations and legal issues regarding the release date, they are already covered in that regard. If you want a refund for the delayed launch announcement you can apply for that refund now - and there's your legal issue taken care of lol. In the end though it doesn't matter when we think the release date will be, as we aren't the ones making the decision. Blizzard will release Shadowlands when Blizzard feel it's right to release Shadowlands (whatever they believe right is). Those saying stockholders won't be happy about a delay are kind of right, but I can tell you that stockholders are more upset when a game is released unfinished and with multiple problems that result in a player exodus & bad publicity - that impacts stock prices way more than release delays lol.
I'm gonna hope for a December release and Nathria in January, as otherwise it seems like too little additional time gained to iron out Shadowlands and too much potential conflict with the holidays.
November 10th and 24th would conflict with cyberpunk way to much.... That'd be a stupid move imo.Like it or not they're both RPGs and have a large player crossover. (Or atleast you'd assume)
How many expansions have they released now? Honestly don't know why they dont have a seperate team of developers working on new content and one for keeping current content working. I mean we've had the pre-purchase for the expansion since last year. I also know it's been difficult with corona this year and the way in which companies have had to manage themselves because of it but honestly its just always (SSDD) Same #$%^ Different Day when it comes to expansions. Dear Blizzard stick to the rule of thumb (KISS) Keep It Simple Stupid.
this again?^^ why dont you finally post some infos about customization-options to come? :)sorry... no harm intended, i simply had to do this, hope you can take the poke on topic: i dont think any schedules from the past apply this time, 2020 is simply weird
Would be quite a dumb idea to launch the game in November. PS5 is coming out with PS exclusive games, Cyberpunk is coming out (hopefully). Too much competition if you ask me, especially if they try to launch half-baked content they didn't had enough time to fix. Don't know how most people's gaming habits are during the winter Hollidays, Blizz has probably more insight into that checking their past server statistics, but personally I wouldn't mind playing couple of hours every second day or so after chilling with the family, so mid December wouldn't sound too bad if raids and M+ will open up late January anyway. If they wouldn't hold onto 2020 though, a mid January 2021 release would be much better imho. But only if all the bugs are fixed and the covenant mumbo jumbo is sorted out to a state 90% of the community can live with.
Well, I just subbed for 3 months to play with the prepatch event and the expansion.I feel like I have been cheated out of my money. I'm sure Blizzard did not disclose this earlier on purpose.I was also about to take a 2 week vacation for the expansion launch today. If the game doesn't launch by mid November, that means I lost 12 vacation days for 2020...Can't say I wasn't expecting this though. Still, Blizzard, you suck.
Mark my words, it's gonna be longer than Cataclysm prepatch.
the release will definitley be mid january early february
https://i.imgur.com/7VKX0qT.pngIn American format, the date would be 26/10/2020.Yeah, 2020 will have this many months - it's 2020 after all. So, 16 months.
Cyberpunk 2077 is November 19. So I hope we will have time to play it.
